The SureSmile® Process

Your SureSmile experience is unique to you, just like your smile. suresmile precision braces are designed with advanced technology to move your teeth more precisely than was ever possible before. After your SureSmile wire is inserted, you’ll be on your way to a beautiful, healthier smile sooner than you might have believed.

New Patient Exam

Your SureSmile treatment begins with an initial exam with your orthodontist. During this visit, he or she will talk to you about your smile goals, answer any questions you have about orthodontic treatment, and review your SureSmile treatment process.

Bonding Appointment

During your bonding appointment, your orthodontist will attach your brackets to your teeth. Then, a straight wire will level and align the teeth. Once this initial movement is complete, you will be ready for your SureSmile scan.

Scan Appointment

SureSmile creates a 3D computer model of your bite by using advanced imaging technology to scan your teeth. The 3D image can be captured with an OraScanner® or Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).

The camera takes pictures, and the computer assembles the 3D model in real time. Using the model, your orthodontist will determine the optimal position for every single tooth.

Wire Appointment

Your orthodontist will insert your customized SureSmile wire to move the teeth to their target position all at the same time. The wire is made of a special material called a Shape Memory Alloy (copper nickel titanium). Once placed in your mouth, it is activated by your body heat to return to the position designed by your orthodontist.

De-Bond Appointment

Now, after all your hard work, we celebrate! During the de-bonding appointment, we remove your brackets and you get to see your beautiful, straight smile for the very first time.
